[At some point between the two world hops, Hunk will bake Takeru a plate of cookies that appear to be shaped like eggs...and they are decorated with frosting to look like digieggs to be precise. He couldn't quite bring himself to bake digimon cookies (eating the little guys seems weird) but he figures these are the next best thing. He also spent time on one cookie that is a surprising replica of a digivice. Clearly Hunk spent time with these decorations and baking.
If Takeru isn't in his room, they're covered and left with a note.]
Enjoy these. I was making snacks for my team and figured technically we're on the same team now too (is now the right time to make a joke about being a 'dream team'?) Anyway. I know it's been rough lately, but we've just gotta keep moving forward right? -Hunk
[If Takeru is there and wants to catch Hunk knocking...well that is also an option.]
[ At the knock, Takeru opens his door just enough to peek out. It's common enough, after all, for the temple's nondescript halls to lead to people ending up at the wrong room. When he sees it's Hunk--accompanied by the scent of baked goods, no less--he smiles and steps out to meet him. ]
Were you stress baking?
[ It's a light, teasing comment... until he looks down and sees what Hunk's actually made. Those cookies had to have taken a lot of time and effort, to say nothing of the thought that obviously went into deciding to make them in the first place. Takeru's expression abruptly falls. He's not upset by the gesture, but he is maybe a little overwhelmed. ]
[Hunk steps back when the door starts to open. He offers a sheepish grin at the question, not quite sure how to answer.]
Something like that. These are for you. I was kind of already on a roll since I was making stuff for Team Voltron, cause they've been having a hard time of it and I figured, well, we were sort of a team too...even if the whole Digital World thing was part of some dream rift or whatever. So I had this idea and figured eggs aren't very hard to shape out of cookie dough.
[The decorative frosting had been fun to figure out, but he'd managed it. There was a batch of less elegant looking ones left behind for other people to just help themselves. He just knew food made people feel better and since some of the food around the Temple couldn't be trusted at the moment, this seemed like a nice alternative.]
And, well, as you said, baking helps me feel better. It was basically a win-win scenario here.
[ Takeru's listening, but his gaze remains fixed on the cookies. After Akvos, he's been doing a lot of keeping to himself. It's practically his MO to hide out when he's feeling down, to avoid people and the difficult conversations that come with them.
But now, here's Hunk, who seems to have found a much more productive way to deal with their loss--not only for himself, but for others in the Circle too. Seeing how Hunk is managing and hearing him talk about being a team... Maybe it's the reminder Takeru didn't even know he needed. ]
Yeah.
[ He doesn't full-on burst into tears or anything, but he sounds a little choked up and when he lifts his head, smiling, his eyes are watery. ]
It doesn't feel like enough to just say thanks, but... thank you. Really. You didn't have to do so much.
[After stumbling through his explanation he notices that Takeru is oddly quiet and rather focused on the cookies. Maybe he should have asked if Takeru had a preference for a different kind. What if he didn't even like sweets? Hunk hadn't considered that.
But, no, this seems to be a reaction unrelated to the cookies' type. Hunk can definitely hear the hitch in Takeru's voice. Hunk shifts the plate to one hand and puts the now free hand on Takeru's shoulder. He's here for you buddy and, bonus, if Takeru's feeling a little tired Hunk's healing power will make that fatigue ease a little. It just feels like extra warmth.]
You're welcome. And I know I didn't have to...but I did anyway. I'm not good at a lot of things, but this is something I can do for others, so I'm going to.

Let me know if you're okay.

[ As good as, y'know, any of them can reasonably be after everything. ]
You're hanging in there?

As for me...well, I'm in one piece. I think that's about as much as any of us can ask at this point.

I'm around, though. If you ever wanna talk for real.

[It's harsh, but hopefully by now Takeru has at least picked up on the fact that she says things like this to people she actually is friends with.]
There seems to be some kind of commotion at the fighting ring...maybe we could check it out sometime.

[ Giving one another a hard time is an essential part of Chosen Children friendship. ]
But sure, count me in. I guess we can't put off getting back to training forever.
